Villa Bura Rab is located on the island of Rab. Both the island and the capital of the island, also called Rab, have a long history dating back to pre-Roman times. The capital of the island was inhabited by the Illyrians 350 BC. In the 10th year before Christ, the Roman emperor Octavian Augustus declared the city of Rab a municipality, making it independent. Today, the island of Rab is often called “happy Rab” – Felix Arba. As you walk the streets of the city, you can still feel the spirit of the past. You can admire the beautiful Gothic and Renaissance palaces or explore the medieval streets and nooks, which are always full of life.
